Our G2 Rainbow Six Siege team has had amazing success since joining the G2 Army, winning the Six Major Paris, Pro League Season 8, DreamHack Winter 2018, and the Six Invitational 2019. Following the conclusion of the Pro League Season 9, we have made the decision to implement a roster to help ensure this incredible success continues. We are therefore excited to announce that Aleksi ‘UUNO’ Työppönen will be joining the G2 Esports lineup.
UUNO’s journey into professional Rainbow Six Siege started in the summer of 2017, when he joined PENTA Academy where he was coached by G2’s very own Shas. From there, he moved on to ENCE eSports, then to LeStream Esport where his roster won multiple minors and represented Europe in the Pro League Season 9 - Finals. Now, the 24-year-old will be taking a spot with G2 Esports to take on Europe and the world with his smart plays and amazing skills.
UUNO is very happy to start playing with the G2 Esports lineup saying:
“I am very excited to join the G2 roster and organization. I have known the players for a long time now and never thought I would get the chance to play in the same team as them. My goals with the team are to stay on top and dominate the scene.”
G2 CEO Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodriguez welcomes the newest R6 star by saying:“We’ve kept a close eye on UUNO over the past few months and based on what we observed and Shas’ experience coaching him at PENTA Academy, we knew that UUNO would be the perfect addition to our team. His drive to win and stellar ability to create plays will bring the team to the next level as we defend our world championship title. I’ve no doubt the G2ARMY will be highly entertained by UUNO and his gameplay.”
We can’t wait to see UUNO break out his favorite operator Twitch wearing a G2 jersey. To open the door for his role in the team, we are in the process of finding a new home for Joonas ‘jNSkzi’ Savolainen. Joonas has produced amazing results since joining G2 Esports, making his mark as a legend in the scene. Nevertheless, we feel that the team’s recent performances have not been to the standard either the team or the organisation expects. Therefore, having assessed the situation, we feel that this change will allow the team to continue its incredibly dominant run. We are very thankful to Joonas for his time and success. We will have an update on his status in the very near future.
Watch out for UUNO’s debut with G2 Esports at ESL Pro League 10.
