After dominating VALORANT, we want another team that can win us a trophy every time they enter an event. Introducing our 3rd all-women roster “Oya” who will compete in CS:GO (CS:GO 2 when?)
Heading up the roster we have 2 names G2 fans will be familiar with, Julia “juliano” Kiran, our in-game leader, and Zainab “zAAz” Turkie, 2 legends of the CS:GO scene who, after winning everything in VALORANT, have decided to go back to their roots. Joining them is Anastasiya “kr4sy” Khloystina, Oleksandra “manka” Kruspe, and Aleksandra “kyossa “ Tychanska, with Jimmy “Jumpy” Berndtsson, as the coach.
Oya, an African Goddess, is the warrior-spirit of the wind, lightning, fire and magic, who creates hurricanes and tornadoes and serves as the guardian of the underworld. It also sounds like the girl’s signature catchphrase HOOOYYAHHHH.
Esports legend and G2 Oya member, Juliano, commented: “The G2 Oya project is special to me because it's a fresh start. I’m returning to my homeground, Counter-Strike, together with my duo zAAz. It is an incredible feeling and I’m so excited about what we will achieve. We have brought together some insane raw talents to complete our lineup and there is no doubt in my mind that you'll see us all lift a trophy together.”
Alban Dechelotte, CEO of G2 Esports said: “The G2 Oya project, alongside G2 Gozen and G2 Hel, is much more than just winning or losing. The creation of the team is to help inspire the next generation of players of CS:GO. We’re immensely proud of the work we have done at G2 to improve the presence of women players in esports competition and this is just the latest step in our journey to do that. While the goal is better representation, we know that trophies come to the party when Juliano and zAAz are on the server and we’re confident we’ll experience the same instant success with G2 Oya. I can’t wait to see them coming back to their realm to claim back their crown.”
We can’t wait for the team to compete in their first tournament and force us to build yet ANOTHER trophy cabinet.
